google ads waste calculator.
plug in five numbers. see how much of your monthly spend goes to clicks that never convert and leads that never sell.
your numbers.
defaults are a rough small-account profile. change any field and the results update immediately.
total ad spend across all your search campaigns for the month.
share of clicks that turn into a lead. use conversions ÷ clicks from your campaign or account level.
avg. cpc from the campaigns you are measuring. use the account or campaign average if you do not have a tighter number.
share of clicks from search terms that never convert. pull this from your search terms report — look for terms with zero conversions over a meaningful window.
share of leads that turn into paying customers. use closed-won deals ÷ total leads over the same period you used for the other inputs.
how the math works. total clicks = spend ÷ cpc. clicks from irrelevant searches = total clicks × irrelevant search %. waste from irrelevant searches = those clicks × cpc. leads = total clicks × conversion rate. qualified leads = leads × lead-to-sale rate. true cost per sale = spend ÷ qualified leads. total wasted spend = waste from irrelevant searches + waste from leads that never sell.
what you waste.

this calculator runs entirely in your browser. it does not connect to your google ads account, read your data, or send anything anywhere. the numbers are estimates based on the inputs you enter — use them to size the problem, not as a replacement for a real search terms and conversion audit.
